The vibrant Pavilion Theatre has been bringing the finest in theatre, dance and music (from Ireland and abroad) to Dun Laoghaire since 2000. The week before Halloween means the 2nd Flip Flop Children's Theatre Festival, which this year features the delights of a 9ft Scottish Giant and his uncouth dog, a delightful production of Hansel & Gretel from acclaimed Lyngo Theatre Co. (UK/Italy), and the return of those dysfunctional storytellers "Jan-Jan" and "Lou-Lou" in Theatre Lovett's hilarious Fables, Tales & Tattlers as well as the 2nd Flip Flop Children's Fiction Slam, workshops in Pavilion and throughout DLR.
Róisín and the Seal - A Shadow Puppet show

Róisín befriends a seal little knowing that when she is in danger he will change into a boy to save her. They meet a greedy fisherman, Mícheál Mac Na Mara, who threatens the underwater wonderland he has shown her. Adventures ensue when Mícheál is forced by a tribunal of seals to help the children find the boy's lost sealskin - his only means to return to his world.
Written with humour and zest by poet Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill, with music by Colm Ó Snodaigh of Kíla and Sound Artist, Slavek Kwi, this shadow show is the latest creation of award winning Púca Puppets.

Hansel and Gretel's journey takes them from a house with empty cupboards and a mother who doesn't like children to a house made of sweets and someone who just loves children - on toast! The award-winning Lyngo Theatre serve up this well-loved fairy tale in atmospheric style presenting a musical theatre enchantment of spooky characters, captivating songs and haunting imagery.
The 4pm showing on 25th is a special Hallowe'en Party show - so come in costume and you could win a prize!
