15 Usher's Island is the address at which events of James Joyce's The Dead take place. Joyce's aunts Mrs Lyons and Mrs Callanan lived at this address, and The Dead was inspired by his fond memories of dinners had there to celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany (January 6th).

Over the past three years, the house has been restored, to be opened to the public. As part of these plans an Art gallery has been included on the house's main floor. The gallery is intended to encourage creativity, showcasing work by artists established and unknown.
