Okay, it's an old joke, but there's a reason it's lasted! For young musicians, there's nothing more important than the chance to rehearse, rehearse and rehearse some more. Which is why the IRMA Trust, in association with The Arts Council and Music Network, has launched a fantastic new initiative to equip between 10 and 15 rehearsal spaces with everything they need to help a budding bands on the path to fame and fortune.
The scheme - which is open to rehearsal facilities, venues, music collectives, youth/community groups and resource organisations - will provide successful applicants with high quality starter packs (including guitars, amps, a drum kit, a digital piano, a P.A. system, rehearsal recording equipment and a host of mics, accessories and additional hardware) alongside an introductory workshop by an experienced technician, and a €500 starter fund.
