Okay - you've read this far, which means you're already at least thinking about the idea of taking part in this year's Fun Run in aid of the Dublin Simon community (good for you)! So Dublinks.com would like to start this article with two VERY important pieces of information - A: It's only 5 miles (8km), and B: Yes, you can walk it! We know those were the first two things WE check before deciding to sign up.
After all, The Dublin Simon Community has already raised awareness to the point that, well, we all know where the funds we help raise will be going - towards promoting policies and providing services to help reduce homelessness in Ireland! And the fun run isn't just the Simon Community's main fund-raising event - it's also Ireland's biggest charity-organised annual running event, catering for runners (and walkers) of all ages and fitness levels.
There'll be plenty of entertainment on the day, with music, performers and amusements after the events, goody bags for all the participants, spot prizes throughout the day, medals for every child and even a fantastic group-warm up beforehand, led by RTE's very own fitness guru Karl Henry (Operation Transformation) to help ensure this is a real feel-good event, without any next-day soreness!
